Tech Moves: RealNetworks appoints president; Athira adds CFO; and more

— Seattle-based digital media company RealNetworks named Chris Wheaton as president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer. Wheaton joined RealNetworks in March and was previously CFO at Bsquare and the Pacific Science Center.

RealNetworks also announced that longtime leader Michael Parham is stepping down June 30. He is currently senior vice president and general counsel.

RealNetworks founder Rob Glaser, who started the streaming audio pioneer in 1995, took the company private in December. The company now focuses on SAFR, a computer vision platform for live video, Kontxt, a text and media analysis tool, and GameHouse, its longtime mobile games business.

— Seattle-based publicly traded biotech company Athira Pharma hired Andrew Gengos as CFO and CBO. Gengos was most recently CBO for Cyteir Therapeutics. He replaced Glenna Mileson, who is retiring.

— Seattle M&A advisory firm Meridian Capital added Matt Rechtin as managing director. He was previously in leadership at EY and Wells Fargo.

— Seattle-based debt financing firm SaaS Capital hired Rob Spangler as managing director. He was previously a vice president for Bigfoot Capital.

— Tegria, a spinout of healthcare giant Providence that launched in 2020, named Jen Morgan as chief financial officer and Prasanna Gunjikar as chief growth officer.

— Seattle payments company Member Access Processing added Jay McCracken as senior vice president of sales. McCracken was previously with Fidelity Information Services (FIS).

— Seattle tech vet Russ Mann joined the board of Ignite Visibility, a San Diego marketing agency.
